Meaning of where
noun
- The place in which something happens. Example: A good article will cover the who, the what, the when, the where, the why and the how.
adverb
- Interrogative adverb, used in either a direct or indirect question: at what place; to what place; what place. Example: He asked where I grew up.
- In what situation. Example: Where would we be without our parents?
- (relative) At which, on which. Example: That is the place where we first met.
pronoun
- The place in which. Example: He lives within five miles of where he was born.
conjunction
- While on the contrary; although; whereas. Example: Where Susy has trouble coloring inside the lines, Johnny has already mastered shading.
- At or in which place or situation. Example: He is looking for a house where he can have a complete office.
- To which place or situation. Example: The snowbirds travel where it is warm.
- Wherever. Example: Their job is to go where they are called.
- In a position, case, etc., in which. Example: Where no provision under this Act is applicable, the case shall be decided in accordance with the customary practices.

How It Works
The tool cleans the input, compares it against a local English word list, and then tries to load definitions from a free dictionary source when available.
